With Adam missing this episode, it was left to Rob, Junice and Franki to try and scrounge together some good game ideas the only way we know how: a game of Stealthy Godzilla!!!!
The rules are simple: we each randomly draw a genre, setting and character as well as a (PG) Cards Against Humanity Card and brainstorm a decent game out of whatever we've been given. So, without further ado, lets take a look at this weeks proposals.
Junice's Game
CLASSIC ROBIN: THE THUG LIFE AIN'T GONNA LEAVE YA!
Genre: Stealth
Setting: An Idyllic English Village
Character: Random Joker thug number 53
CAH Card: Ominous Background Music

Random Joker Thug number 53 (let us call him Clive) wants out. For the sake of his wife and two daughters, Clive seeks out the Batman and asks for his help. The caped crusader duly obliges and sets Clive and his family up in an idyllic english village (think Everybody's Gone to the Rapture). Several months later, the player joins Clive as he is beginning to really get settled into the rural life; his family beginning to prosper as they run their dairy farm together. Unfortunately, Batman forgot to tell Robin, Damien Wayne, about this whole deal and the Boy Wonder has decided to take some initiative and bring Clive to Justice in an attempt to impress his distant mentor. If you, the player, can evade capture from Robin for an entire night then you'll be rewarded with a nice cutscene showing Clive and his family playing with the ole' swing out back. Fail to avoid capture however, and an eager Robin returns you to Batman only to be told off; Batman then sets you up in a new idyllic english village and the process repeats until victory is achieved (Classic Robin: he never learns).
Award: The most wholesome Batman: Arkham Knight DLC
Rob's Game
LEGO THE LAST OF US 3: SOME MORE OF US
Genre: A Lego Game
Setting: The Bottom of York Uni Lake
Character: Grown up Ellie from the Last of Us
CAH Card: Middle Aged Man on Roller Skates

The zombie apocalypse is well and truly established with no end in sight.....but wait....is that a glimmer of hope? For some reason the campus of the University of York seems to be completely untouched by the zombies. Joel, on roller skates, and grown up Ellie travel from afar to come and investigate. Upon arrival it turns out that a singular bite from a duck to is able completely disintegrate any zombie; our protagonists conclude that it is something to do with the "water" of the campus lake and decide to dive in and take a closer look, but were not expecting what they found! Oh yes and this whole thing is in Lego because........ Naughty Dog were told to target a younger demographic as nobody over a certain age was asking for another Last of Us sequel??
Award: Game you'll buy at full price because of the franchise it belongs to and hate yourself for being fooled so easily (but still have a reasonable time with).
Franki's Game
SUPER MARIO FALLACY
Genre: Open World
Setting: Comic-Con
Character: Mario
CAH Card: A White Van Man

You're a man cosplaying as Nintendo's iconic Italian plumber. You're at Comic-Con. There is a White Van Man who is trying to kidnap you. Should you call the cops? Yes, probably, but that would spoil the game. Instead, in the interest of entertainment and making the most out of the eight hour line to get into Comic-Con you decide to hit all the booths you came here for and get out as quickly as possible without the White Van Man catching you and whisking you off to who knows where!
Award: Seems expensive even at £3 on Steam.
Overall Verdict:
Super Mario Fallacy is a big shout for worst game yet; we will be doing a complete ranking in a few weeks time. We suspect the other two will be somewhere near the front of the chasing pack. As far as this week goes we have given the victory to Classic Robin for decent gameplay with a rather nice storyline which we had a good time coming up with. In contrast, we had to work pretty hard to make Lego Last of Us work and we're still not completely convinced.
